Here are the before and early stage photos of my bedroom:
Early Stages of the Spare Bedroom:
I couldn't even walk through the room at first ... :)
Living Room:
My bedroom and living room are nearing the final stages ... I'll post pictures of them soon. I plan to paint the kitchen sometime in the next week or so. Stay tuned for more pictures, and news on the homeownership front.
I will say this, now: I have felt so blessed in every step of the way during this process. I got a great referral for the best realtor around Salt Lake (if anyone needs one in the area ...). I placed my offer on the exact day that interest rates were at their absolute LOWEST and got a ridiculous rate. There wasn't a single counteroffer from the seller on anything we sent to them. Even moving was easy! My parents generously purchased my washer and dryer and gave me a little money to get started on the home improvements. Brenda's friend, Mark came with his trailer, as did five of my students, and we got everything out of one house and into this one in under two hours!! Eddie's aunt, Beth, came over for a few hours on moving day to help me paint my bedroom so I could sleep in my bed. Eddie's even spent time here helping me build bookshelves, put up shelves and my stair railing. I have truly felt God's hand in this process ... it was just too easy to be any other way.
Above all, I've learned about timing. I've been wanting to buy a house for quite a while now. I got so tired of throwing my money away in rent. I paid off all of my debt several years ago, and have been working to maintain a good credit score. I wanted to look for something in the DC area, but every time I got serious about, I just didn't feel right about it. Then in late November, I felt like maybe it was time. A week later, I started taking action, and it all just fell into place. When we are patient and really wait upon the Lord and His timing, everything is so easy. When we try to force things before it's right, it is so difficult. I only hope I can remember this lesson in all other things that I do.

Congratulations!! That is so exciting! I love owning my own place and decorating. My home purchase just kind of fell into my lap, like it sounds yours did. It felt so right and has been so good. You couldn't have picked a better time to buy. Good for you!
